The Koch Brothers Turn On Chris Christie and Warn Him About Setting Up Obamacare
The Koch Brothers think-tank, Americans for Prosperity, handed down a warning to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for not rejecting provisions in the ACA to submit health insurance exchange plans ahead of the health law s full implementation. Republicans were already furious with Christie for praising President Obama s rapid response to the super-storm Sandy that ravaged parts of the East Coast last week, and now the Koch Brothers are pressuring him to reject a New Jersey exchange bill to rebuff the ACA s requirement before a November 16 cutoff date for states to set up health insurance exchanges. If states fail to set up the exchanges, the federal government does it for them and the provision gave individual states leeway to set up a healthcare marketplace according to their resident s needs.
Koch-Backed Group Warns Chris Christie
This preemptive chastising of Christie is an odd turn in the Koch-Christie tale. The Koch brothers have long been fans of the governor. On June 26, 2011, as Mother Jones first reported, Christie delivered the keynote speech at Charles and David Koch's ultra-exclusive seminar at the Ritz-Carlton resort near Vail, Colorado. At the event, David Koch hailed Christie as a "true political hero."
Conservatives fail to oust judges in Iowa and Florida
In Florida, the Koch-backed Americans For Prosperity and the state Republican party failed to get rid of three state Supreme Court justices, who they argued were "extreme" and "activist" in their rulings. One decision that the right didn t particularly like involved the state s attempt to block the Affordable Care Act, which the judges ruled against.
A Hostile Takeover of Our Country Treasonous, noxious, thieving, tyrannical
American democracy is under assault. In one super-PAC alone, Karl Rove and the Enron grifter Ed Gillespie, have assembled $200 million from big polluters and Wall Street moguls to buy the 2012 election. Two of the Koch Brothers, Charles and David, pledged $130 million to elect candidates who favor unrestrained corporate profiteering. The senators and congressmen they fund and elect are not representing the United States - they are representing Koch and its oil industry cronies, Big Pharma, and the Wall Street banksters currently mounting a hostile takeover of our government.
Koch Brothers Produce Counterfeit Climate Report to Deceive Congress
An upcoming junk study from a Koch-funded think tank that has taken on the format and appearance of a truly scientific report from the US Government, but is loaded with lies and misrepresentation of actual climate change science. The false report is a tentacle of the Kochtopus - with oil and industrial billionaires Charles and David Koch at the head.
When plutocrats bullied voters
The Koch brothers and David Siegel aren't the only billionaires putting pressure on their employees to elect Mitt. Across America, this divide between the superrich and everyone else has become a yawning chasm that studies indicate may stifle jobs and growth for years to come. At no time in modern history has the top one hundredth of one percent owned more of our wealth or paid so low a tax rate. But in neither of the two presidential debates so far has the vastness of this astounding inequality gap been discussed. Not by Mitt Romney, who is the embodiment of the predatory world of financial capitalism, and not even by Barack Obama, whose party once fought for working men and women against the economic royalists.
Koch-backed activists use power of data in drive to oust Obama from White House
Americans for Prosperity, the Tea Party-aligned group part-funded by the billionaire Koch brothers, is building a state-of-the-art digital ground operation in Ohio and other vital battleground states to spread its anti-Obama message to voters who could decide the outcome of the presidential election.

Koch Industries, other CEOs warn employees of layoffs if Obama is reelected
In it was a letter, dated Oct. 1, from Koch Industries president Dave Robertson implicitly warning that "many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences" of voting for President Obama and other Democrats in the 2012 elections, a list of conservative candidates the company's political action committee endorses and a pair of editorials: one, by David Koch, supporting Mitt Romney, and the other, by Charles Koch, condemning Obama.

Koch brothers are on a quest to change course of country
"The Koch political machine is the most elaborate, comprehensive financial dip into American politics since Standard Oil and the robber barons a century ago," said Larry Jacobs, a political scientist at the University of Minnesota. "This is the 21st century version of how you buy yourself a government in America."

The 6 billionairs who want Romney to be president
The following 1 percent wonders are doing just fine under Obama, but since their worldview is largely restricted to an obsession with their marginal tax rate, they can t refrain from denouncing the president and thinking of new ways to thwart his re-election bid. The Romney men desperately want to see the first financier president, a man after their own cold hearts.
Trick Or Treat A Koch Brother Dresses Up As An Environmentalist In His Fight Against Cape Wind
Yesterday, the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound - a group established by Koch and his cronies to wage war on Cape Wind, the first offshore wind farm proposed in U.S. waters - dredged up an old lawsuit against the project. The frivolous nature of this latest tilt at the project s offshore windmills is enough to make even Don Quixote blush.
Koch brothers polluting river and politics
The Koch brothers are poisoning our river and our politics. If you re not familiar with Charles and David Koch, you should bone up on them. Among the mega-rich, Forbes estimates their fortunes at $25 billion each, the brothers family-owned companies stretch from oil and gas refineries to fertilizer production to paper mills. They have poured hundreds of millions of dollars into right-wing, ultra-conservative causes - a political philosophy they come by naturally. Their father, Fred, was a founding member of the John Birch Society.
Koch Brothers shutter plant in Duluth, Nolan calls out Cravaack for doing nothing
"When we lost 141 jobs here, our congressman was nowhere to be found," said his DFL opponent Rick Nolan. "Chip Cravaack has been all show and no go - when the working men and women in this district are looking for a champion to fight for their jobs - he's no where to be found." "And now the Koch brothers are spending millions to protect Chip Cravaack and others because they know he will always be a vote for their interests, not the working men and women who rely on these jobs," Nolan continued.
How Gloria Romero Became The Face Of Prop 32
"Money is the mother's milk of politics," Gloria Romero tells me on the phone. "It's flowing to both sides. Government isn't about drawing lines. It's not about saying you're on that side and you can't come over." Her voice is friendly, somewhat placid, but it's clear Romero is not thrilled with having to answer questions about her political alliance with the Koch brothers and other wealthy supporters of Proposition 32, and she conspicuously avoids bringing up their names. When pressed about the Kochs and the money behind behind Prop. 32, she falls back upon her experience in Sacramento.
George Soros donates to democratic super pac hoping to-match the koch brothers
George Soros, the liberal billionaire and champion for liberal causes, has donated $1.5 million to three Democratic Super PACs. $1 million will go to Obama s Super PAC Priorities USA and $500,000 will go to two congressional PACs. That brings Soros total donations this year to $4.3 million. The NY Times reported that Soros made his contribution at a luncheon where donors committed to an additional $10 million in Democratic campaign financing.
Arkansas: A Koch brothers case study
When the history of the influence of money in the 2012 election is written, Arkansas may be an interesting case study. Despite the focus on the flood of money unleashed by the Citizens United decision on the presidential and congressional races, some of the more lasting results may be felt at the local level. There is a rule in political spending: the lower the category of interest a race holds for the voters, the more influence money can have. A voter considering a presidential or senate candidate will have multiple sources of information and may have a long history of regular voting at that level of the ballot. But what about as they move further down ballot? How many people know who their state legislator is, or their county supervisor, or their local judges? How many care?
Plutocracy 2012: Koch Brothers Organization Spending $1 Million To Buy The State Of Arkansas
Americans For Prosperity (AFP), the group founded and funded by the right-wing billionaires the Koch Brothers, has its sights set on Arkansas. Having just spent big in Kansas to unseat some of the state s last moderate Republicans, AFP is now looking to swing both the House and Senate in Arkansas to the Republican Party.
Don’t Let the Koch Brothers Buy Our Elections
"Greedy Lying Bastards" investigates the reason behind stalled efforts to tackle climate change despite consensus in the scientific community that it is not only a reality but also a growing problem that is placing us on the brink of disaster. The film details the people and organizations casting doubt on climate science and claims that human behavior has no affect on greenhouse gases. Mr. Rosebraugh, a political activist, documents the impact of an industry that has continually put profits before people, waged a campaign of lies designed to thwart measures to combat climate change, used its clout to minimize infringing regulations and undermined the political process in the U.S. and abroad.

Progressive Groups Say Koch Brothers are Attacking Rhode Island
Activists, union leaders and concerned citizens took to Kennedy Plaza Monday to warn that a national agenda put forth by billionaires Charles and David Koch will set the country and Rhode Island back if voters don t rise to the challenge this November. At a rally attended by roughly 30 Rhode Islanders, a group known as Patriot Majority explained what it calls the Koch brothers' "greed agenda," which includes advocating for tax breaks for the extraordinarily wealthy while cutting social programs.

Koch Brothers Cashing in 220,000 Acres of Tar Sands Holdings
Recent action by Koch Oil Sands pulls the curtain back further on the Koch family's deep but quiet involvement in Canada's oil sands industry. A Canadian division of Koch Industries is reviewing a range of offers to buy up to 220,000 net acres of its many undeveloped oil sands properties within Alberta's vast reserves of oil sands.
Kochs Send Millions to Silence California Workers with Prop. 32
Billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch could be the poster boys for the big money special interests that are dumping hundreds of millions of dollars in this year s elections on the national and state levels. Last week it was reported that the American Future Fund (AFF), a front group for corporate special interests that s linked to the Kochs, dropped $4 million into the effort to pass California s Prop. 32.

Koch Bros. Could Pull A $40B Dividend — But Probably Won’t
Charles and David Koch are attacked by left-wingers for their free-market politics, which strike some who dwell in more liberal circles as being extreme and even vaguely anti-American. Koch and Adelson campaign money tests integrity of election
Dave Koch ran as the Libertarian vice presidential candidate in 1980 on a platform to abolish Social Security and corporate taxes. He was also against campaign spending limits, and he and his brother evidently now realize that this opens the door to the other two goals. Adelson is also grateful for the Supreme Court's convenient outlook that money has nothing to do with corruption, stating in a jaw-dropping admission of what moral integrity means to him: "I'm against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections, but as long as it's doable, I'm going to do it."

Hilariously, he is not writing about himself or his brother David.
David Koch: The billion-dollar delegate
Even though David Koch s equally politically active brother Charles has kept his distance from the organized GOP, a number of operatives in Tampa told POLITICO that David Koch s presence as a delegate from New York here sent a strong message that the Kochs expanding political operation is becoming a more reliable adjunct of the Republican Party.

Meet the Man Who’s Trying to Force Paul Ryan to Look for a Real Job
Once again, Koch brothers cash will face off against a people-powered campaign in Wisconsin this November. The race is for a House seat in the first Congressional District, a seat now held by Paul Ryan. His challenger - the first serious challenge he's faced in 14 years in Congress - is Rob Zerban, a restaurateur and County Commissioner.
Koch Brothers Behind Paul Ryan as VP Choice
I've waited a few days to lay out my analysis of the selection of Paul Ryan for the VP slot on the Romney ticket. Unlike politicos like Dick Morris who bad-mouths the selection privately and shills for it publicly, I'll tell you what I really think. My sources tell me David Koch played a key role in Ryan's selection and that Koch's wife Julia had been quietly lobbying for Ryan. The selection was cemented at the July 22nd fundraiser Koch held for Romney at the former's sumptuous Hamptons estate.

The alliance that killed the Kansas moderate
The political decimation of the moderate Republican in Kansas has been getting a lot of national press. The showdown has been seen as inevitable since the election of Kansas first radically conservative Governor. So how did the state of Kathleen Sebelius and Nancy Kassebaum turn into the state of Brownbackistan? It is hard to fathom, especially in light of Governor Brownback s dismal polling. The following is from Kansas political scientist Dr. H Edward Flentje.

How The Tea Party Was Hijacked by the Koch Brothers
The Tea Party had an opportunity to be a voice for the masses. Unfortunately, they were usurped by the robber barons of the 21st Century -- the Koch brothers -- and have been repurposed to fight in favor of corporate fascism and against democracy. All that is needed to prove out this statement is a look at the movement's platform as listed on the web:
The Koch Brothers Go After Actor Zach Galifianakis and the Film: The Campaign
Koch brothers committed to seeing Republican states turn a ‘deeper shade of red’
Tim Owens, a Republican who held elected office in Kansas for more than three decades, fell out of favor with Governor Sam Brownback because he committed the crime of compromising with Democrats, says Jennifer Granholm. So Brownback started endorsing tea party newcomers against Republican moderates, including Senator Owens opponent, Jim Denning. But most important, it wasn t just the governor backing these tea partyers - the Kansas-based conservative billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch, who are behind Americans for Prosperity, started funding them too.

BEST Climate Change Study Supports Koch Gas Fracking Investments
The kicker is that BEST is partly funded by the Koch brothers, who have become notorious for their financial support of the "climate change denial machine." Hence the bombshell, and with it a lesson in the perils of corporate funding for scientific research. Or is it? Take a closer look at some of the Koch brothers energy investments and pair that with another BEST funder, and it s clear that the new study works in favor of the Koch interests, not against them.
Pro-Romney independent group tied to billionaire Koch brothers readies $25M TV ad campaign

How ALEC, the Koch Brothers Led CABAL and The Amicus Project Interfere in Federal Courts …
This article by Bob Sloan of the Daily Kos describes how ALEC and the Koch brothers have been filing "friend of the Court" briefs in federal court cases around the country to advance an agenda important to their members and corporate interests. The problem is, what is in the best interests of ALEC and their friends all too often is not in our best interests. And if Romney wins in November and the republican propaganda campaign results in them taking the US Senate also, you can bet that this problem will get worse, not better.
Sold Out Why Mitt Could Win
Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson has pledged $10 million to the Koch brothers 2012 political plans, cementing a potent alliance of two of the biggest spending forces in politics. The $10 million pledge was delivered by Adelson's aide Andy Abboud at the Koch brothers donor summit in suburban San Diego. Many of the dozens of rich conservative invitees are expected to write huge checks to a pool of cash distributed among Koch-approved groups, potentially boosting the Kochs 2012 spending plan beyond their historic $395 million goal. The June 5 Wisconsin recall vote is just days away, and Republican Gov. Harper is right Foreign radicals are after the oil sands
Stephen Harper s Conservatives have courageously chosen to expose and confront foreign interests that have surreptitiously been infiltrating the Canadian oil industry - and they don t mean their Chinese Communist partners. They are apparently in possession of revelations about these extremists and criminals that, in the words of Senator Nicole Eaton, "would make your blood boil." For six decades around the world, Koch Industries has blazed a path to riches - in part, by making illicit payments to win contracts, trading with a terrorist state , fixing prices, neglecting safety and ignoring environmental regulations. At the same time, Charles and David Koch have promoted a form of government that interferes less with company actions."
Conservative thinktanks step up attacks against Obama’s clean energy strate

U.S. Republican Koch oil billionaires help fund the Fraser Institute. Why the Fraser Institute
So why are the Koch brothers in Canada and why have they selected the Fraser Institute to be the repository of their generosity? A trip to The Fraser Institute's website offers clues, if not answers. Huron Carbon, a subsidiary of Koch's West Palm Beach-based Oxbow Corp., donated $1 million to Romney's Restore Our Future "super PAC" last month. That brings Koch's Restore Our Future donations to a total of $2 million, including $750,000 Oxbow contributed last year and $250,000 Koch gave on his own.

The firm for the first time is reaching into an Oregon legislative race by giving $5,000 to former House Majority Leader Tim Knopp for his primary race against Sen. Chris Telfer, R-Bend. Koch Industries does have a direct interest in Oregon: it owns Georgia-Pacific, which was once headquartered in Portland and still has nine facilities with more than 2,200 employees in the state. But, according to the secretary of state's campaign-finance database, this is the first time Koch Industries has given money to a legislative candidate here (at least going back to 2007, which is when the database was established).
The Koch Brothers – Exposed!

While the intellectual battle waged inside the Supreme Court over the constitutionality of health care reform, it was outside where the political battle really took off. And who is at the center of the political battle? The Koch brothers. Conservative billionaire brothers have sent the surrogates, the Americans for Prosperity, to rally against the bill. The protest featured notorious anti-health care crusaders like Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sens.
