Female prisoner of conscience Hakimeh Shokri was abruptly transferred from Evin Prison to the Gharchak Prison in Varamin on December 15, 2014. "I don't know why they treated her this way. Why did they transfer her to Gharchak Prison in Varamin in such haste where she wasn t even able to take her clothes, personal items, and money? She didn t even have enough money to call us and let us know about her transfer," said Zahra Shokri, Hakimeh Shokri's sister.

Water Shortage Arrives In Tehran Khamenei Authorizes Use of 10 Billion Dollars

While water shortage is not a new phenomenon in Iran, some specialists have said that this issue has a 17 year history. A report last week indicated that this shortage is not confined to Tehran but to a total of 12 large cities in the country. During the last few months a number of reports had warned that various Iranian cities faced a water shortage and were struggling with its consequences.
