National Latino group pulls convention from Texas over SB4 – Houston Chronicle

The National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators is moving its annual convention from Houston to Chicago in protest of Texas sanctuary cities bill, SB4. The summit draws state legislators, Hispanic organizations, corporate representatives and high-ranking elected officials and diplomats to discuss issues that concern the Hispanic/Latino population, according to the organization website.

California Governor Jerry Browns revised budget proposal includes an extra $15 million to expand legal services for people facing deportation, which would increase the total to $33 million for legal services for immigrants.
